It’s a sweltering 127 degrees and the sun has been beating down on your car for a few hours, you open the door to find it’s been turned into an oven; it must be at least 25 degrees hotter than it is outside. You turn on the ignition, immediately your windows go down, the air conditioning is cranked to its lowest setting and you wait for your car to cool? But it doesn’t. Warm air is blowing from your air conditioning vents and the car isn’t getting cooler.
At Limberlost Automotive our professional technicians are certified to diagnose and repair many components in your air conditioning system including the A/C compressor, condenser, blower motor, relays, cooling fans and more! Our AC service and check can get you back into the cool quickly and includes:
Visual Inspection for Leaks
A Limberlost Automotive certified technician will look at all refrigerant lines, compressor and the condenser to see any signs of leakage. If a leak is found, our technicians will let you know which repairs need to be made to get you back in the cool.
Replacement of Service Ports and Schrader Valves
Schrader valves are used to allows our technicians to recharge your air conditioning with refrigerant; They are similar to the valves used in your tires and over time they can begin to leak causing the loss of refrigerant which results in your air conditioning to fail. At Limberlost Automotive our certified technicians will replace the Schrader valves and service ports to prevent leakage.
Leak Detection Dye
As part of a comprehensive maintenance plan, our technicians will add a florescent dye to the AC system before a problem has occurred. A leak detection flashlight or lamp can then be used to quickly scan the system for leaks during regular maintenance or service calls. If a leak is present, a florescent glow will appear making even the smallest leaks easy to pinpoint.
Advantages of Fluorescent Leak Detection:

- Quickly find the exact source of each and every leak
-
- Leaks are detectable at a distance
-
- Very small, multiple, and intermittent leaks are easily found
-
- Technicians can search for leaks while system is off or running
-
- System can easily be rechecked after repairs are complete
-
- Dye can remain in systems indefinitely
-
- Technicians can safely search near moving parts
